Over the years, we’ve had the honor of shooting a few other photographers’ weddings; and, to be honest, it’s always a little nerve-wracking! We feel so honored that other photographers trust us enough to put their cameras down for one of the most important days of their lives. Up until this point, all of our photographer clients have been brides, but this was the first time the photographer was the groom. Tyler is an unbelievably talented fashion photographer in L.A., so the fact that he gave Quinn the thumbs up when she suggested us to him, well, it meant the world. Quinn and Amy danced together back in the day, so it was like a fun mini-reunion for her. The day was full of so much emotion and joy.
In Tyler’s vows, he said people often ask him about his photographic process. Out of all the photographs he takes, how does he know which one to pick? During every shoot, there are so many photographs to choose from that it would seem impossible to narrow down to the very best image. His response? When he takes the photo, he just knows. It’s a gut feeling. One he can’t describe. He feels it in his soul. And THAT is how he feels about Quinn.
We had the privilege of watching Quinn’s vision come to life through the planning and design of our dear friend, Rachel Troyan of Outstanding Occasions, and florals from the talented Petal Pusher, among so many others. Quinn’s parents have a beautiful private residence in Paradise Valley, Arizona, and it was the perfect place for a welcoming wedding filled with fun and warmth — the two words we’d use to describe Quinn and Tyler if we only had two. It rained on all of Quinn’s sisters’ weddings, so the bright, shining, Arizona sun was something we were all grateful for. And the food. Oh, the FOOD. From the food truck brick oven pizza for appetizers to the gelato cart for dessert, to the homemade carne asada tacos for a late snack and everything in between, this felt like a fun food festival. With delicious taste and dance in their bones, this was one heck of a p-a-r-t-y. And we loved every minute of it.
Quinn and Tyler, from the moment we first talked months ago until the night we said goodbye at the reception, you never lost your focus on the two things that matter most: your love and the people you love most. That came through so clearly during every second of every minute of every hour of your wedding day — and we were so blessed to be part of it. Thank you for trusting us with documenting the most important day of your life. We hustled hard — and then some — so you could take the day off and be totally present for everything and everyone else, and we hope you love re-living these moments through our lens as much as you enjoyed seeing them through your own eyes. We love you both. Here are some of our favorite highlights from your wedding, with so many more to come!
