Oh, where do we even begin with these two? From the minute we met them, we had an instant connection. For a lot of reasons. First, Jamie and Louis are both doctors. No, that’s not the connection. Because we’re not MDs. We’re WebMD’ers. BIG DIFFERENCE. And Jordan always has a terminal illness. Just ask him. But Jamie and Louis DO work together. At the same practice. Which is a lot like us, because we taught elementary school together (at the same school, in next-door classrooms) for four years — and we still work together doing this.
Second, we connect with them because we admire their easy-going natures and overall outlook on life. Why? Well, for the easy-going part, cold 25-MPH winds and lightning in the background didn’t stop Jamie from toughing out portraits in a wedding dress and carrying an umbrella! In lightning! We vaguely remember shouting something over the gusts like, It’ll be worth it! You’ll have these pictures for the rest of your life! The reason we love their outlook on life? They take Wednesdays off. Together. Let us repeat that. They take Wednesdays off together. Is that AMAZING or what? We’re like, “Good. For. You. Guys. Because we need to do THAT!” But it’s such a testament to how much they love each other, love spending time together and value and prioritize their relationship.
Also, and this is a side note but important third reason we love them: we share a common love for food, especially Oregano’s, where they met and had their rehearsal dinner, and one of our favorite local places in town and the place that catered our wedding seven years ago. Man, we could go on and on, because there are so many things (and so much to love) but suffice it to say…
Jamie and Louis, thank you. We love you. The best relationships are built on trust — and that’s exactly what you did with every step of this process, from our first meeting to the gusting winds on your wedding day. We’re confident Dorothy was flying around somewhere behind the mountain, by the way. But you trusted. You trusted us with capturing your love and showing people in pictures how you truly feel about each other and your family in friends in your hearts. You trusted Whitney Lewis from Some Like Classic, to plan and execute the details of your day (big and small) — and. she. crushed. it. And you two trusted yourselves, your instincts, who you are as individuals and as a couple, to stay focused on the most important thing — the only thing — that really matters on a wedding day: each other. You let everything else fall into place… and it fell beautifully. Just like you two.
Jamie and Louis, we’re not sure if we’re ready to buy a house yet, but if we were, we’d love being neighbors with people like you (and Whitney Lewis 😉 In the meantime, expect a few late night calls every now and then. From Jordan. Because it’s cancer. Or lupus. Unless, of course, you’ve seen House. In that case, you know that it’s never lupus.
Love you guys! Enjoy this little sneak peek! There’s lots more to come!
