Happy Thursday, friends! We wrapped up our SIXTH AJ Workshop for 2015 last week with a real wedding and today we’re sharing a behind-the-scenes look at what went on! Also, where has this year gone?! Fast! If that’s even a place! Our past two workshops were in Richmond and Virginia Beach, so it felt good to be back home in Scottsdale for our last one of the year. We welcomed sixteen photographers from all over the country! They came from as far northeast as Baltimore and Philadelphia, as far south as Austin, as far northwest as Seattle, and even Denver and Chicago in the middle! It was DEFINITELY one of our most far-reaching workshops to date, which was so much fun!

We kicked off Sunday night at our favorite old-fashioned 1950s ice cream shop: The Sugar Bowl.

Don’t believe these smiling faces for a second!

Or these!

Or his!

Or theirs!

We were having serious conversations about things like Disney trivia, crime scenes, The Devil Wears Prada, lactation, and Harry Potter. It got intense.

As you can see!

On Day 1, we talked all things photography in preparation for our styled wedding shoot.

Hard at work taking lots of notes in their TOP SECRET play books!

And Jordan saying things that get him in trouble!

While we were teaching, our amazing creative team, led by on of Martha Stewart’s top wedding planners, Jennifer Thye from Imoni Events, was making sure that every little detail was just right.

In a workshop twist, our models were a REAL-LIFE engaged couple who were going to get married at the courthouse but decided it would be a lot more fun to get married at our workshop instead! Tasha and Trevor went viral earlier this spring when he proposed to her at half court of a Phoenix Suns game. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s stinkin’ ADORABLE! It also explains the TV cameraman in the background.

Amy went dress shopping at with Tasha the week before so she could pick out her dream wedding dress from Schaffer’s in Scottsdale. Celebrity Tux & Tails hooked Trevor up with a dashing suit, too! Before the wedding started, Amy demonstrated some posing techniques for our attendees!

And when the ceremony started, it was lenses up!

Officiant Matt Nathanson not only volunteered to perform the nuptials, but he even prepared a personalized ceremony for the bride and groom! The personal touches like that from all the vendors were SO thoughtful! Heart Sweet Cakes made sure Tasha and Trevor even had a real wedding cake to take home! The ceremony was so sweet and emotional.  It was so special to know we were the only people to get to witness something so beautiful. There wasn’t a dry eye in the place.

Wee Ones Photography

Now that’s A LOT of photographers! Do you think we broke the Guinness Word Records for most at one wedding? Maybe we should look into that…

Wee Ones Photography

The ceremony was short and sweet (it only lasted about five minutes). No pressure, Amy and Jordan! Good thing we had backup!

Wee Ones Photography

We wish we could share the photos we all took — because Tasha and Trevor were SO cute! — but we’re waiting to hear back from a publication about featuring them, so we’ll post them as soon as we can!

Wee Ones Photography

Time to sign the license! And this time, Tasha and Trevor surprised us!

Wee Ones Photography

They asked US to be their official witnesses! We were SO honored! This was our second favorite part of the wedding day. Our first favorite? Right before Tasha walked down the aisle, Jordan said to her, “Tasha! It’s official! You’re an AJ Bride now!” And she responded, “I am?!” with so much sincerity and joy. We melted. Just look at her cute face!

Wee Ones Photography

Wahoo! It’s official! And how about those flowers from Butterfly Petals?! Amazing.

Wee Ones Photography

Congratulations to the brand new Mr. and Mrs. Cruz! What a cool name, too, right?! Cruuuzzz.

Wee Ones Photography

After the wedding, FOX 10 Phoenix interviewed us! We mostly just tried NOT to go viral, if you know what we mean.

Wee Ones Photography

They also interviewed our dear friend Jenni from Imoni Events who put the fabulous creative team together to give Tasha and Trevor the wedding of their dreams!

Wee Ones Photography

Because when you don’t have a bridal party, you take a shot like this! The happy couple… all ALL of their wedding photographers! We look like proud parents.

Wee Ones Photography

On Day 2, it was back to business! We talked all things blogging, social media, client experience, and much more!

Our attendees also got 1-on-1 time with Amy for some updated head shots!

We love this crew so much! The stories of true life change made every minute of craziness more than worth it.

The craziest part?! The AJ Workshop made it on TV! And not just any story! The second news story during primetime coverage in the sixth largest city in the nation when we had one of our biggest storm in decades! We are still in shock about it! If you haven’t seen the news clip about this day yet, you can check it out right here!

It was an experience we will never forget!
