They met in middle school. In the time of passing notes, hallway gossip and “I-know-who-likes-yous.” In the time of braces, pimples and everything awkward. And while most of us would like to forget middle school ever happened at all, for Jay and Jess, middle school was the beginning of a beautiful love story.
They would meet up every day on the middle school soccer fields, and Jess would ask Jay for help tying her cleats. He obliged, of course, because what middle school boy doesn’t want an excuse to talk to a pretty girl?
Fast forward to October 19, 2013. Jay was no longer fastening cleats, he was fastening cuff links. Jess was no longer walking down the middle school halls, she was walking down the aisle. In a day filled with beautiful emotion and picture-perfect details, a new chapter of their love story was written.
Amy had the absolute privilege of second shooting this gorgeous Silverleaf Country Club wedding with world renowned photographer, and close friend, Melissa Jill. Yes, that Melissa Jill. The same one who shot our 2013 portraits, and the one who is extremely near and dear to our hearts. It’s so fun for Amy to take a backseat role on a wedding day every once in a while, challenge herself to shoot differently and soak in the creativity of one of this country’s top photographers. Melissa, it was an honor to shoot alongside you!
