Oh, friends, we are so excited to share this Silverleaf Country Club Wedding with you today! It’s hard for us to believe that this is our very last wedding before our baby boy is born. We’re well into the third trimester now, and since we won’t be taking on another wedding until this summer, in a lot of ways, this wedding was like a big grand finale for us. And we couldn’t have picked a more perfect day to close this season of our lives!

People ask us all the time if we shoot a lot of destination weddings, and the answer is YES. We shoot A LOT of destination weddings… without ever leaving our city! Scottsdale is a huge destination for so many couples who live in colder places, and it’s probably one of the only places in the country where you could have gorgeous weather at your wedding two days before Christmas!

Rachel and Max planned their winter wedding here from Boston, and thanks to the incredible expertise and eye of Jennifer Thye of Imoni Events, the day was flawless from start to finish. From the gorgeous florals by Sarah’s Garden to the custom paper products by Idieh Design, every single detail of the day felt like it was straight out of a magazine. We were in photographer heaven.

But what stuck out to us most was the incredible love, warmth and sincerity of Rachel, Max, and everyone around them. The second we walked into the getting ready room, Rachel’s mom, Patty, who we’d never had the chance to meet in person, greeted us with a huge hug and smile that made us feel like family. Rachel’s bridesmaids were each so sweet and genuinely excited to be a part of each moment of their day. Max surprised Rachel with a personal poem during their first look that had all of us in tears. During the reception, you could FEEL the love and closeness shared not just by the couple, but by every single person in the room.

At the end of the night, we had a moment to hug Rachel’s parents goodbye, and as Amy told Rachel’s dad that it was a pleasure to serve their family, he stopped her and said, “You weren’t serving our family. You were a PART of our family.”

That’s just the kind of people they are.

Rachel and Max, thank you for allowing us to be part of your family for the day. It was truly an honor, and we’re so excited for you to see a few of our many favorites!

This is just gorgeous!!!! Aahhhh!!!! What lens did you shoot with at the reception & how is the lighting just as perfect as the wedding shots?!?!??? Y'all are amazing!!!

    Amy & Jordan

Aw! Thanks, Tiffany! You're so sweet! Amy shot with the 50mm 1.2 and Jordan shot with the 70-200mm 2.8. The sun was setting during the ceremony, so as it got darker, we shot at the lowest apertures we could, raised our ISOs and then just brightened them a little bit in Lightroom so they'd be consistent with the rest of the day :) Are you in our Shooting and Editing Course by any chance? If not, definitely check it out! We cover this and so much more :)
