These two. Wow. What a fun ride it’s been so far. We’ve been friends with Melissa for what seems like forever. From the middle school days of she and Amy spending their time plotting matching overalls, glitter eyeshadow and one epic Destiny’s Child concert, to cheering on the track at those Friday night football games. Melissa and Jordan were in student government together, and we were both there when she was crowned homecoming queen in a graduating class of over 600 kids. (Not surprisingly, we might add!) We weren’t the only ones who knew she was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside.
In college, Melissa and Amy were in the same elementary education block, which means they spent hours together every single day –– and loved every minute of it. After graduation, she was a bridesmaid at our wedding. Jordan cried twice that day. Once when he saw Amy for the first look, and again when he saw Melissa and our other high school friends enter the church doors one at a time. For him, it was like seeing our entire life together (to that point) flash before his eyes, like watching memories walk down the aisle, he’d later reflect. We remember when Melissa and Braedon started dating. We were there for their surprise proposal in the woods and we did their engagement session, too. When they got married, Amy was a bridesmaid and we photographed the wedding. We even had the chance to meet up with them in Prague a few months after their wedding for a honeymoon session. They’re probably the first (and only) couple to ever get the proposal-engagement-wedding-honeymoon-maternity combo –– (although if any of our AJ Brides are reading this right now and want to take us to Bora Bora or Tahiti, we are SO in!!)

And we’ll never forget standing on the driveway of our new home when they broke the news to us that they were pregnant. Followed by the second set of news: twins!! TWINS!!!!!!!!! Our hearts felt so big at that moment we thought they might burst.
And even though everyone was surprised when they found out you were having twins (including us), it makes sense that God would entrust you with more than one, because He’s watched you love others, and He knows you have more than enough love… for two.
