Happy Wednesday, friends! We’re so excited to share the first of three weddings we shot during our first triple-header weekend ever! (More on that in a future blog post, but suffice it to say that, given the chance to shoot a wedding every weekend or shoot three in one weekend once per month, we’d take the latter every single time! We really liked getting in a groove — or “battle mode” as we called it around here — and staying in that groove for three days in a row). Anyways, back to the reason you’re here: to see Alyssa and Spencer’s gorgeous wedding at Soho 63 in Chandler, Arizona. If you’ve been following our blog for the past year, then you definitely remember their engagement session. It was the one with the yellow bike. What you may not remember, if you went straight to the pictures, is the adorable story of how they met. It’s a modern-day version of Cinderella at the well, a chance meeting of two strangers that shouldn’t have been and couldn’t have been. Unless, of course, it was destined to be.
Here’s the story:
She was in Tennessee. He was in Indiana. She’d never seen him before and he’d never met her. One night, she posted on Instagram. He was in the app, too. It was a hashtag for a band they both loved. A small one. Small enough and with the right timing that when she added the pound sign and band’s name to the end of her caption, it popped up. On his screen. It was Twenty-First Century love. At first sight. Or hashtag, you might say.
“Which led to a string of comments that would eventually turn into commitment, and a series of likes would ultimately turn into love.”
Alyssa and Spencer, what can we say? From the moment we sat down over that warm cup of coffee, we felt so connected to you and your story — and felt so honored when you chose us to document this part of it. Thank you, from the bottom of our heart, for trusting us with that responsibility. We loved the way you collaborated with ROAR Events, Sassy Soirees and Sarah’s Garden to paint a blank canvas so beautifully. The decor was lovely, just like you, modern timelessness at its best. Thank you, too, to your families, for making us feel like honorary members all day — and a special thank you for the dinner menu. Holy. Moly. We could eat brisket tacos all. day. long. Then Spencer would really need to step up his personal training skills to get us back in shape!
We love you, guys, and are so excited to share this little sneak peek with you. Enjoy!
