Where do we even begin with Lauren and Duke? How about the beginning! Lauren moved into Jordan’s neighborhood in third grade. They were friends from elementary school all the way through high school. If you’re counting, that’s almost 20 years of friendship, which made this wedding extra special for us! You know what else made it so special? Amy cheered on the track with Lauren in pom during her senior of high school. That’s right! Lauren was there when we first starting dating. She was there for those first moments under the Friday night lights. We first met Duke 14 months ago when we sat down for the first time over coffee to discuss their wedding. At the time, it was our farthest out booking we’d ever had, and we were so glad, because October was the craziest busy month we’ve ever had, and we couldn’t have imagined being anywhere else on October 25, 2014. Jordan found himself getting just a little bit emotional all day, too, because standing there with Lauren for portraits, so much had come full circle. He and Lauren could’ve never imagined 20 years ago that Jordan would be the one responsible for documenting such an important day in her life. When Lauren’s mom walked into the getting ready room, it felt like a family reunion!
From start to finish, though, Lauren and Duke’s wedding day was so much fun. They’re both such easy going people. Laid back. No stress. They wanted a wedding day that was smooth and, most importantly, something they could enjoy every moment of — and they did! There was some super special moments, too, like a first look with Lauren’s sweet dad. There’s nothing quite like when a father sees and hugs his daughter on her wedding day. It was so sweet. It’s a second in time we’ll never forget.
Lauren and Duke, we told you on your wedding day as we were riding in the golf cart together that our only regret is that this 14 month journey has come to an end. The only consolation is that this 14 months was just part of a longer 20-year journey of friendship that we’re sure will continue until we’re all old and gray. Thank you both so much for your friendship and love. We adore you both and felt so honored to be the ones you chose to document your wedding. Here are a few of our favorite highlights from your day! Hopefully you’re viewing them right now from your bungalow in Tahiti or Bora Bora! Either way, thank God for the Internet, right?! Enjoy, you two lovebirds!
