Last year, we blogged 10 Things You Didn’t Know About Amy. This year, it’s Jordan’s turn! So, without further adieu, here are 10 things you didn’t know about Jordan…
1. In first grade — as a SEVEN-year-old — he hosted the school-wide talent show in full Steve Urkel geek mode: high-waters, suspenders, taped glasses, pocket protector, snort and all. Did I do that?!
2. He loves ice cream. Okay, so maybe you knew that one.
3. His first concert was The Spice Girls in fifth grade. He went in a limo full of girls from school and they stopped for a romantic dinner at McDonald’s on the way to the concert. His taste in music’s changed since the 90’s, but not his taste in food. People of the world, spice up your life! Every boy and every girl, spice up your life!
4. He learned Spanish as an adult and reads Spanish newspapers and watches Spanish television every day to stay sharp. He started reading children’s fiction in Spanish this year, too, beginning with Charlotte’s Web.
5. As a kid, he had a knack for doing voices and impersonations (and still does). One of his vocal specialties was Sebastian the Crab from The Little Mermaid.
6. He was voted “Most Likely to be President” by his high school graduating class, and he hasn’t given up on that dream just yet. He actually pauses presidential debates to answer the questions his way before listening to the candidates respond — and Amy sometimes finds him giving speeches to the mirror.
7. He drinks his coffee black to save on calories, so he can eat more ice cream. See #2.
8. In elementary school, he used to sneak out of bed at night, throw on his cowboy boots over his pajamas, and hang out in the bathtub. After hours of reading, listening to books on tape, and playing make believe all by himself, he’d fall asleep and his mom would find him in the morning.
9. He never thought he’d own cats, but now could’t imagine his life without his sneaky, squeaky, cuddly little furballs.
10. His goal in life hasn’t changed in 9 years: spend as much time as possible with the woman he loves.
